| We are thinking of taking the kids this weekend. Has anyone gone? It looks interesting online but doesn't everything... They are 5 and 7. |
| It looked interesting - until I realized it would be almost $100 for a family of four. Still mildly interested if anyone knows of discounts? |
Same here, looks very nice, but pretty expensive. |
| It seems overpriced for what it is. We are going to Busch Gardens Christmastown for less next weekend! |
Doesn't really seem like they're comparable things. |
| We were at Zoofari last Friday and they had all the stuff setup. It was during the day so we didn't see the lights on - but the displays are beautiful! If you've been there before, you're familiar with the size of the place. They have displays everywhere. There's stuff in the pond, stuff in empty enclosures, stuff along all the paths. I think it would be fun. In my mind, the price is prohibitive, but if you don't mind spending the cash, I'm sure you'd enjoy the event. |
| A friend recently went and said it was amazing but that the troupe of Chinese performers had some visa issues entering the country and hadn't arrived on time. She was given free tickets to come back when the performers arrive in December (?). So maybe call ahead and ask about this if you want the full experience. I looked into going because it sounds great, but I think it's too pricey for us. |
|
I looked into going, esp. because we have adopted two daughters from China, but it is just too $$$ for us for one evening.
I also am STILL unsure and uneasy about the current state of the ownership/care of the animals at Roehr's -- despites their reassurances that it is under new ownership -- and I am hesitant to give $$ to them. If you drive by, you can just see all the different species of animals just HANGING OUT all in the same field -- like on some savannah in Africa -- but I don't understand it: b/c they are all diff. species, need different climates, have different needs, and yet they're all moping around in the same field, time and time again. It kind of gives me the creeps and makes me very sad. |

I was interested until I saw the price. Absurd.
We'll stick with Meadowlark and Bull Run. |
| Same as PPs... Was all set to do it until I saw it priced out at $87 for my family of four. Nope nope nope. |
| This is OP. We tried to go tonight and arrived right at 5. The parking lot was almost full and the line to enter was very long, through the parking lot. The people behind us and in front of us had purchased tickets online and apparently there was still the same line to stand in and wait. After about 15 minutes we hadn't moved very far and decided to leave. I'm not sure if I will try again sometime that's not a holiday weekend. The lot was full when we left and cars were backed up pretty far on the road waiting to get in. I didn't see a sign to another parking lot. If you are going to go I would suggest arriving well before opening to get in line. |
| Good intel, OP. I was planning to skip and and now I'm for sure going to skip it. |
