What do preschools put in a student's file? I'm asking for a friend who is going through a custody battle and deciding whether to try to get it. I can't imagine it's much - just forms parents fill out and any reports the parent already has (incident reports, etc)? It's a part time church preschool in case that matters.
My child also went to a part time preschool in a church basement. The only thing in her "file" were emergency contact information and her health form/immunizations. It's not like the kids are getting grades.
Some preschools do document developmental milestones to help assess where children as they progress throughout the school year.
Schools must document attendance. Sometimes that is useful in a custody trial.
There's a preschool director on here who will likely weigh in, but at the parttime church preschool where I teach, it's emergency forms, immunization requirements, and if available--the previous year teachers' conference form.
Every painting and arts/crafts sh** the kid has ever done!
