Barbecue

Is there anyplace that has good BBQ in the DC vicinity? I'm not impressed with Rocklands, Capitol Q or any of the other places in the city. We'd be willing to travel out to the distant burbs, or even beyond, for great authentic BBQ.

Richmond VA - Buz & Neds - THE BEST BBQ I've ever had. We used to live about a mile from it and were there at least once a week.

Around here, Famous Dave's isn't half bad. Their ribs are actually very good.

If you like NC style, you may want to try Carolina Brothers in Ashburn.

I've heard that the pulled pork sandwich at Sweetwater Tavern is good, but I haven't tried it.

Barbecue is one of those topics on which it is nearly impossible to get two people to agree given the wide variety available, but here is one of my favorite places:

Hogs on the Hill

Are you talking TX Brisket or NC/Memphis BBQ/pork? DH is from TX. I am from Memphis.I have lived here ten years and still have not found anything that comes close! Let me know if you find something!

OP here- I'm from TX, so brisket is my absolute favorite. However, I also love Memphis & Carolina styles and would be psyched to find any good BBQ.

I am the 16:55 poster. I have had brisket all over Austin-nothing beats Louie Mueller's in Taylor!! YUMMM!!! The closest brisket we have found is at Whole Foods in FairLakes. I know it sounds crazy but it beats anything else we have found. Since WF first store is in Austin, makes some sense they may know what they are doing.
