Flip Ultra (non HD) for a 10 year old with a Mac?

Hi --I'd love to get my niece a fabulous present for her 10th birthday and I'm thinking about getting her the non HD Flip video. Her parents are giving her a Mac Book. Does anyone know if the Flip to Mac will be too frustrating for a ten year old? Is it easy to use? Does it upload right into iMovie? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

It is definitely easy enough for even a semi-smart 10-year-old. You just stick the Flip in and the software opens right up. SO easy even I can do it (and 10-year-olds are probably more computer-savvy than I am).

LOL, thank you. Have you been using it with a Mac? Which iMovie version do you use?

Yes, we have a Mac. I don't know which version of iMovie (just that we have it). The Flip software is complete in and of itself, though, so as soon as you insert the Flip into the USB port (the USB input is already built in to the Flip), it will play and save and edit without even opening iMovie.
