Episcopal PA=11 SJC=5

Tied @ Half. Episcopal played a ton of girls and their sub rotation just wore SJC out as their starters ran out of gas with no subs.

Subs are developing according to the plan. They will get their chance when it matters.

Episcopal must be really good or was SJC off tonight?

Episcopal is very good and has superior depth. 3rd game in 4 days for them as well.

SJC is over reliant on 3 players who can’t do it all. They may have to, though. Defense was so off. They looked confused. Not sure if players were out (benched for concert attendance??!!). SJC didn’t win any draws in second half and coach never changed anything up. She’s like an observer vs a coach. Goalie play was solid or the score may have been 16-5. Episcopal defense was dominant. They were faster and had a team of stronger players. However, you only get better playing better. And SJC played a top 10 program hard in first half. They have to be able to play both half’s the same.

EA is currently ranked #3 in the country - SJC is not in the top 25

I’ve seen SJC and thought they were very solid. Big and fast. This team must be off the charts good.

Then you’ve seen good but not great lacrosse.

Potomac players were at that concert too. It was the skipping practice part that got PVI into trouble, evidently. It was no problem going to practice, then to concert.

This is the difference between the truly top teams and the DMV teams that have a good year here and there when the coaches did decent recruiting a few good players for high school. None of the DMV teams actually develop talent the way schools like EA, McDonogh, and Darien do.

I don't disagree with this statement, but the difference I see is that each class those top schools bring in has 5+ girls that are already very solid. Not too many schools have that strong of a pipeline because many girls are spread across the ISL/WCAC. Many only get one maybe two decent players and it's just not enough when you're playing the Top 20 schools.

Agree. As an observer episcopal is a team of elite players with excellent coaching. Each girl they rotated in was as good as the next. Although they played their starters for the most part. SJC just fell apart and didn’t do anything to adjust. Maybe they just didn’t have enough talent to make adjustments. Although the babe a hard time believing that. . To go into halftime tied and to then go scoreless for two quarters. SJC does needs to be more aggressive on the goal. Episcopal’s defense was one of the best defenses seen I’ve seen. There were many times SJC players had fast breaks to then start passing the ball around to then turn it over. That’s not how you win against an Episcopal or any team.

Episcopal very well coached and strong team. SJC mistakes came from their first players being tired & gassed.

Good for the coach to bench them for missing practice. During season priority should be lacrosse. They are letting their team down by being selfish.

Priority should be school. Then lacrosse.

You think a high school kid going to a concert is selfish. You must have been a complete nerd in HS. Plus, I have a hunch some girls from the winning team also went to see Luke.

Getting hammered the night before your game, that's a different story. But, going to a concert allowed a HS nerd to be self righteous as an adult, so I guess everybody wins.
