Waters put PVI on the lacrosse map.

What is un-clear to me is that wasn't he forced out by some parents and the administration.

But now he is back?

Connecticut? Not sure why they would play at Prep when they could play in the MIAA. Much better conference and they actually aren’t afraid to compete with the top teams.

lol...there's more to picking a school than lacrosse.

Lol. Must of been. If it was for lax they made a terrible decision.

"Terrible decision"? Really? People on here are so full of it. What a completely idiotic and untrue statement.

You do realize lots of boys around the country would love to come play lax at Prep, right? The school has a long history of successful lacrosse teams and most recently the 2023 team won the IAC Championship, ranked 4th in the country, #1 in the DMV by the Washington Post, and had 11 seniors commit to play in college. They received tons of social media hype from ECD, Madlax, and other media outlets that all these kids and coaches pay attention to and watch. Every year anywhere from 4-14 of their players commit to D1 and D3 colleges, often the most in the DMV. Their facilities are top notch and the best in the DMV. Their coach won coach of the year, is in the Georgetown University and US Lacrosse Hall of Fames, is a silver medalists for the US National team in the World Championship, played professionally for nine years, and many other accolades.

Choosing to play lacrosse for Prep is definitely NOT a terrible decision, which is why kids come in from all over the DMV, Connecticut, Canada, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, etc. just for a chance to attend Prep and play on the team. It's clearly painful for some to hear, but that is the truth.

prep hype man. They go to Prep because they give out the $$$.

Agree, not easy to get coaches but you think these players are going to buy in? That team will be a mess and by the end of of it will be run by the players. The school needs to commit 100%. Treated like Basketball. That is not a mess is it?

PVI only cares about basketball and baseball.

Everyone knows it, even their students and families talked about how bad they were last year compared to 2022. They lost to STA in their own fall tournament for god’s sake. They got lucky that Gonzaga fell apart last year and will lose to them in 2024.

Take a look in the mirror, bro. You mad?

Prep folks are mad about the SJC success the last few years. Especially the thumping they got the last time they played.

Coach Rienzo did a great job in preparing these young men for high school.

I didn’t know Coach Rienzo was a silver medalist.

This is all true for the 2023 season. Unfortunately, the staff underachieved in 2022 and lost twice in the 2021 post season to an inferior St. John’s team. The Prep players, parents and administration knows that their 2021 team was head and shoulders above St. John’s, and managed to lose twice.
The Covid year started off with a huge L to a team they were better then. Then, Prep did manage two wins before everything shut down.
The 2019 season was another year of disappointment. Easily the best team in the IAC and could not beat an average St. Stephen’s team.

The only reason why Prep was successful last year is because “Bluejay” was put on the back burner and “the coach” ran the boys club offense. Way to go “tee it up!”

Bluejay?

Man you must be some real prep insider or an over involved parent.

Prep dominated the IAC last year, had a top 5 in the country in most polls, what else could you have asked for?

On to PVI….. any truth to the rumors that James Cramp is being recruited for the head coach position? Some of us are looking at High schools nxt year and need the info. The AD told us they are still in their search.

He is the most likely candidate and was already a coach last season.

If you are holding out in a HS decision based on who the lacrosse coach is you have much bigger issues ahead.
