The pp suggested, but refused to clarify, that “white people” are in the same position as Jews were in the early 20th century. I think that is insane and would like more details. |
Nah. Democrats accomplish this without any help from Russia. |
I think you're confused. |
Here is the comment thread in question- am I confused? What was that pp trying to say? They never clarified. |
| Clickbait headlines for stories written by, for the most part, pampered white umc authors. |
DP. Nah. The PP talking about Jews is either delusionally paranoid or painfully inarticulate. |
| You right wingers are triggered by any true statement that you don’t want to hear. Those are all just stating a fact about the Census data. No one was targeting you. |
The WWII & Boomer generations were much whiter generations than younger groups, so as the old people die the white percentage declines. For a while Hispanics & Asians increased by immigration but in the past 20 years the growth is a lot more US born so under 18 population is now majority POC. |
| How do we define "white" these days? Serious question. |
Again - no one has said or even implied that white people are "being targeted." No one is worried about the census data, for crying out loud. The OP was merely pointing out the slant of the headlines. Good grief, you liberals are dense. |
What slant? That’s what I mean about you imagining that the media is targeting you when they just stated a fact about the most significant trend in the newly released data. |
It’s in the Census. It includes Lebanese, Egyptian as examples. https://www.latimes.com/projects/la-me-census-middle-east-north-africa-race/ Arab and Iranian communities for years have lobbied the bureau to create a separate category for people of Middle Eastern or North African descent. Over the last decade, it seemed the tide would turn — the Obama administration was considering proposals to ask questions about race and ethnicity in a different way, shifting not only how the government would count the Middle Eastern community, but the Latino population as well. In 2018, however, the bureau announced that it would not include a “MENA” category. Instead, the next survey will ask participants who check “white” or “black” to write in their “origins” for the first time. Lebanese and Egyptian are among the suggestions under white. |
Yes, according to the US census, this would be a white guy:
