2. EDP Premier - Second tier. There are Premier I, Premier II, etc. for each area.

3. EDP Championship - Third tier. Same as above. There are Championship I, Championship II for each area in descending level of competition.

So is that the order top to bottom?

Yes from most competitive to least starting at U13 and up.
For U12 and below the top is EDP Premier I, II, etc., followed by EDP Championship I, II, etc.

Top U12 in this area is Atlantic Development League. No idea why they call it something different. But they do.

Atlantic Development league was to replace the DA u12 league. It wasn't included in the leagues listed above.

This is my exact understanding of the hierarchy but, looking at the brackets U13 and above, it seems that EDP Premier starts at Premier III. Am i misreading the brackets? As far as I can tell, what is called Premier I and II belong to the USYS Conference. They are followed by Premier III and IV, which are part of the Premier League. EDP Championship then starts over with Championship I, II, III and so on.

You're correct! I never noticed that before.

Depends on the age group. For U16, there are some Premier 1 and 2 groups in the South Atlantic division. Also see some groups labeled as colors (Blue and Red). Anyone know which division that stands for??

In my experience the colors are just different sub divisions of the same division. Basically, they may have had too many teams of the same level for one division so they made two sub divisions. Usually Red and Blue

The colors are usually geographical groupings of teams at the same level. They might split them some other way sometimes too like if some coaches request mostly mornings and some request mostly afternoons. So Premier II Red and Blue would be the same level.

The U12 ADL (Atlantic Development League) is at the top of the EDP South Atlantic divisions. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like Alexandria is playing their top 2010 boys team in both the U12 ADL and U13 South Atlantic Premier 3 Blue. If it's not too much for the kids, this seems like a good way to transition to 11v11 next year while also competing against the top teams in their own age group.

False. Top teams played Atlantic development league last year as well. Top teams from Bethesda, SAC, Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun, Total Futbol, and SYC (only in the fall).

Why is Achilles 2010 in the U12 ADL? Looks like they were at the bottom of EDP South Atlantic Premier 1 last season (Spring 2021).

Because they have MLS Next.

I heard they recruited players from the BSC Academy I 2010 team, which had been playing up in the 2009 Premier I division. They'll be fine.

I see a number of U12B ADL teams are supposed to also be in the VPL/ECNL-R. Will they play in both simultaneously?
