WWYD: Herndon/Reston Edition

The Herndon Station is built but the Silver Line expansion keeps being delayed. The bus park and ride is fully operational.

It will be very close to the Reston Town Center Metro when that opens. They bus to and from Fox Mill before and after school. They also have programs for when the schools are closed. I know a good number of people who use it.

I don't know anything about either of them but Kiddie Academy, and both Tae Kwon do places have buses as well. You can call the office at the school between 8:30am and 1pm to get the list of places that bus to aftercare from the school. If you already live in the neighborhood, there are several threads on this on the neighborhood moms group on Facebook.

The area around Golden Arrow / Constellation / Minburn in Great Falls seems like it would be a good fit for you. It is walkable to Great Falls Village Center and Great Falls Swim & Tennis and is a ~15 min drive to the Reston metro station.

I used ChildTime Reston and my kids (pre Ks then) didn’t like it. It’s close to the metro so there’s that.

I think there are at least two KinderCare in Reston. My baby used to go to one on old Reston avenue and it was OK. Nothing fancy and thr traffic is heavy at times but staff seems to be fine.

They are putting a stop light at Pinecrest and Fox MIll, it is up but not turned on. I know that there is a KinderCare on Pinecrest.

Get on the Reston Herndon Community Group (Facebook) to ask about daycares. I see these type of questions all the time there and lots of answers.
