Some of these are supposed to be well regarded clubs and teams. Rarely see a team string together more than a couple passes. Lots of kicking the ball down the field to the other team. The fields are quite bumpy maybe making passing more difficult. But I guess I expected better. Most of the college games Ive watched are similar though so I’m not really sure why I expected better. My takeaway is that it’s not very hard to play on an “elite” soccer team if you are committed. Generally disappointed in the state of youth soccer.

It about run fast and individual play. The backline clears balls long. The backline players has done their job. It does not mater if the long ball clear is to your player or the other team. The forwards need to do their job and win those long balls. Most of the long balls or “passes” are 50/50 balls which are turnovers. That’s the game. There is little need for passing or team play. The problem is if you run into a team that is skilled and plays as a team those long balls are turnovers that after 3-4 passes are 5 yards outside your box. Elite teams do not turn the ball over.

Where can I watch these elite teams that don’t turn over the ball? Or is it just not happening until older ages?

This was u15 against number 1 ranked PDA December 2019.

Watch the first 1:25 .

So basically the most elite ECNL u15 team is still playing kick ball and can’t string together more than 2 passes? I guess I have my answer. This type of soccer is only played in Europe. This is good to know as the parent of a u12 girl that is just getting started in so called elite soccer, I should set my expectations that elite does not mean elite in soccer terms, just US soccer terms. Disappointing

Yes, set your sites lower.

Lol. GTFOH.

1. The top producers of female soccer talent in the World is America.
2. You don’t know WTF you’re watching. Game film appears slower.
3. It’s hard to connect and deal with pressure in real time. This isn’t rec. these kids are fast and aggressive which makes it harder to connect.
4. The cognitive aspect of the game kicks in later
5. Your U12 kid would probably collapse under the pressure so bite your tongue.
6. All you people do is complain, criticize, and talk down.

Trash

Lol you have no clue. It’s hard to connect and deal with pressure...that’s the game. It’s called speed of play and soccer IQ. Very soon that is all you coach will be talking about. My kid loves the tight spaces, quick passing game and takes pride playing a one or two touch game. She played with boys and older girls at u12 because they saw the game the same way she did. So sorry your kid collapses under pressure and turns the ball over.

I have no clue? Ha ha.

1- kid plays SEC
1 - kid being recruited by power 5

Again, you’re an over zealous U-little parent talking like your kid is the next big thing. You have a lot of growing up to do.

Soon enough.

Best of luck though. I wish everyone happiness. Just be careful not to step on others in the process.

You have watched College soccer. It isn’t good. Now that doesn’t mean your kid isn’t good, they obviously are good, but College soccer is ugly to watch.

That’s not the narrative you were pushing before that FCV played in a weak conference and would get beat badly by teams in other conferences.

04s finished 1st on group and advanced
05s currently in 2nd place and advance if they win tomorrow
06s finished 1st in group and advanced
07s finished 2nd
08s finished 3rd of 4 in group

Now that the results don’t match your narrative, you change to they should advance because GA is awful? Get your story straight, troll

First time posting on this and I don’t really care for parents bragging on social media. So yeah, makes me not cheer for you.

1. Your are comparing kids to the best players in the world playing in the best academies in the world. It’s not a fair assessment.

Also remember that everything looks slower and easier on tv.

Now you're being a little silly....for example, the 07s didn't "finish 2nd". They were eliminated in round robin play and didn't advance to semis. So only the 04s and 06s have advanced (so far). Let's call a spade a spade here. Good luck to those team advancing.

06s lost in the quarterfinals 2-1.

05s need to win and need some help in the other game tomorrow (as they are currently behind Oakwood) in order to advance.

So can FCV hang with ECNL teams? Or this GA league is weak? I have nothing against anyone or anything just asking? Thanks

This past year’s Jeff cup was very weak.

That’s your answer for everything? Always an excuse. Tournament results not what you’d like? Competition was weak that year. Lost a game? Refs made bad calls. Fields were bad. Other team had too many guest players. The other team cheated. Always an excuse when you don’t like the results. But when the results are good for you? See I was right! We’re the best! I expect a 10 year old to do this and would call them a sore loser. What do we call adults who do it?

Would it hurt FCV to acknowledge the girls eliminated or just keep touting the college coaches still at the games taking place? How about recognizing their hard work and bright future we have been promised -
