Yes, it is pretty good, considering that a large number of local potential students went to privates (Big 3, Potomac, Gonzaga, Madeira, etc.) or TJ. These are the folks who couldn't/didn't go to TJ or could pay for privates.
Having about 70 kids going to UVA/VT/W&M, and 40 going to T25/SLACs is pretty good. The proper comparison is not with TJ, Big 3, Bronx High School, or prep schools. Better to compare with the Ws in MoCo, New Trier, and other suburban high schools. In that context, McLean compares well. |
