It isn’t really. I’m leaving the club and dropping some jewels makes my stomach feel like butterflies. PP is so spot on about RA projecting more of her ego into the club that I think I know who you are… |
So true! Forgot about ODP. |
As one PP pointed out, that is how life works. Even more reason for you daughter to play at FCV. More exposure to YNT ID camps, more D1 scholarships, a burgeoning IMG like academy, clique like stepford culture for the chosen ones, a whinny baby-like GA head coach, a master-race German as a TD, and $25 hamburgers at the James. I.e. take the good with the bad. Kid, it is your choice, if you’re chosen ... or if you have an influential daddy or mommy. If you do join, at least you’ll be able to look down upon the peasants. Just realize that if you slip one bit, the sharks will turn on you in an instant. |
But the quote is not wrong. The scout brought her own kid and friends to NJ because she could. Kinda sus. Is it possible they were all 20 of the best in the region. Sure. Lightning strikes. Is it likely? Hell no. But you know that too. So then, it does not matter. None of those kids get a scholarship or call up. Just mommy bring them along. Game and ice cream in NJ. |
|
FCV and min needs the marketing this camp brings. Badly. Anything for ECNL.
Anything. Mommy knows this. If her kid and friends can’t have ECNL, she can get them YNT camp status. But maybe ECNL will take notice? That’s the hope. They won’t. |
Don't disagree that the whole thing sucks. But her DD is already committed. Why does she care about whether the club is ECNL after next year when her DD moves on? |
I thought it was an ID event not a camp. The camps are national, not regional. |
How did South Carolina get this world beater over Duke, VA and UNC? 🙄 |
|
They’re also keeping kids in place with camp offers. If the best kids don’t leave for ECNL….then the rest will stay is the theory.
Here my prediction on what I’m seeing this tryout season. FCV will not have a single team that is the best in the DMV next year. Not one. That will be first time since they obtained ECNL in 2008 or so that this has happened. Take from it what you will. |
It is not a camp. But abusing the invites to the regional ID events to keep players at a club is a problem. |
|
Congrats!

ECNL players don’t need this as the league validates their level of skill and competition. FCV players need this because of the bs league they play in.
These constant FCV promotion posts reek of desperation. |
| Whole thread demonstrating again how terrible soccer parents are |
| Agreed. These FCV moms are the worst |
| Have we found out yet what the directors are Loudoun are holding against the superiors to still keep their jobs despite underperforming year in and year out? Asking for a coach. TIA! |
