by the time it amounts to anything, he'll be president and just fire the investigators

Trump doesn’t really want to be president again. He’s happy doing what he’s doing right now - playing 18 holes a day, maintaining his tan poolside, eating well-done steaks covered in ketchup (barf!), hanging out with Baron on the weekends, and spooning his supermodel wife who speaks 5 languages every night. He won’t run. But he’ll stay officially uncommitted on it until the last minute, because he knows eveytime a liberal anywhere th8 is about him running again, they have an involuntary spasm. And he digs that.

You lost all credibility when you
a) think his tan comes from the sun and not a bottle
b) hangs out with his kid in any meaningful way
c) shares a bed with Melania

I think it’s a little weird that seem to know so much about him - certainly more than I do if we’re to believe your post - and you hate the guy. I like him (generally speaking) and I don’t know such intimate details of his life. But you do?

Weird. Weird and implausible.

I can’t stand Chuck Schumer. But I don’t know the details of how he spends his time. Because I don’t care/want to. It’s odd that you would know so much about someone you detest.

Or you’re just making sh!t up.

NP.
Trump wears weird orange makeup, he is not tan. That is common knowledge.
Trump just went to a World Series game and didn’t bring his teenaged son. That’s obvious from a bunch of photos of them there. If any father likes his teenaged son, he brings him to the World Series game he gets to attend.
It’s obvious to anyone who has been paying attention that his wife doesn’t like him.

Another NP. Just want to point out that some teenaged boys have zero desire to attend a baseball game - even a World Series game. I have a son who has less than zero interest in sports. Does it ever occur to you that perhaps your "worldview" is severely limited?

Does it ever occur to you that if a man likes his son he would actually choose to partake in activities that his son also likes so that they can actually spend time together? Show me your examples of Trump spending time with Baron if you know better!

Oh that timing is quite convenient.

DP. I told DH the same thing.

And at the last minute, he’ll throw his weight behind DeSantis in exchange for some cushy high-level jobs for himself and all his family members.

So in the latest installment of the fleecing of the rubes, Trump’s paid rally (what, you thought he does them for free?) was abruptly canceled this week because he has to be in NYC to give sworn testimony in his fraud case on the same day. He charges for these events—in this case between $9 to almost $4000 per ticket—and ticketholders will not get refunds, just an opportunity to use their tickets for his next rally in August. SMH. Wonder how many dumbasses are out of hundreds or thousands of dollars.

I certainly couldn't blame Barron for not wanting to go to a baseball game with his dad after what happened to Barron's half-brother:

when Trump, Jr., was enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania. “Don Jr. opened the door, wearing a Yankee jersey,” Scott Melker, one of his former classmates, wrote on Facebook last year, describing what happened on one occasion when Trump came to take his son to a Yankees game. “Without saying a word, his father slapped him across the face, knocking him to the floor in front of all of his classmates. He simply said “put on a suit and meet me outside,’ and closed the door.”

People actually pay to go to these "rallies"? Trump is going to hold these until he goes to prison or dies then.

His new scam is PAID rallies that are part of his "American Freedom Tour." He still does the free rallies, but now he's doing paid ones as well which benefit him directly. Below are some excerpts from the article describing these "shows."

Instead, it was a for-profit show, more like a rock concert. The proceeds benefit Trump personally as part of a multimillion-dollar deal to speak at the events, according to two people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations. The program, the “American Freedom Tour,” is the work of a longtime motivational-speaker promoter with a trail of bankruptcy filings and business disputes across the country.

Those who pay more are granted access to backstage events, such as photos and private Q&As. Top dollar garners a “patriot” experience with a private after-party and access to Trump — though the site doesn’t list how much this costs. The group declined to specify the rate, only that it was more than $4,000.

Former presidents make money on speeches.
Not new.
The tackiness of Trump’s “show”
That’s new.
Totally expected, but new.

The WP article linked above acknowledges that former presidents have made money on speeches but goes on to describe how Trump's case is different.

Former presidents including Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama have often taken paid speaking gigs after leaving office and have been criticized for cashing in on their service. But those fees were generally paid by businesses, not individual fans who may not understand where the money is going. Clinton and Michelle Obama have charged for book talks, with no ambiguity about the use of the proceeds.

“Paid presidential speeches are nothing new. It’s nice work if you can get it,” said Mark K. Updegrove, president of the LBJ Foundation and author of “Second Acts: Presidential Lives And Legacies After The White House.” “The difference here is Trump is doing this under the guise of a political rally. There might be a little deception there.

It is also common for politicians to offer access to big spenders, though the money usually goes to a campaign — not just a candidate’s pockets. Trump’s moneymaking is especially brazen considering that he is the only modern ex-president to contemplate running for president again.

“You have a person who is effectively running for president who is accumulating financial IOUs,” said Jeffrey A. Engel, director of the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University. “Donald Trump has never cared if his financial dealings appear improper. Trump plays by different rules.”

I would also add that former presidents did not use their paid speeches to spread lies, rile folks up, spread hate, and campaign in advance for their next run at president.

“Months before former President Donald J. Trump’s social media company unveiled an agreement to raise hundreds of millions of dollars last fall, word of the deal leaked to an obscure Miami investment firm, whose executives began plotting ways to make money off the imminent transaction, according to people familiar with the discussions.

The deal — in which a so-called special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC, would merge with Mr. Trump’s fledgling media business — was announced in October. It sent shares of the SPAC soaring.

Employees at the Miami investment firm, Rocket One Capital, had learned of the pending deal over the summer, long before it was announced, according to three people familiar with the firm’s internal discussions.”

It's amazing to me that the rubes, even now, consistently line up to be fleeced.

In today's installment of the fleecing of the rubes...

Trump's Save America PAC, which raises money to push election fraud claims, paid $60,000 to Melania's stylist

"Former President Donald Trump's Save America political action committee, set up after the 2020 presidential election, gave thousands of dollars to former First Lady Melania Trump's stylist, USA Today reported.

The fund paid $60,000 to Hervé Pierre Braillard, who styled Melania for several years and worked with her to design a gown for inaugural balls, according to records filed with the Federal Elections Commission."

Also, Trump Social must explain to a federal judge why the hell it hired the litigious AF Devin Nunes.

“Former President Donald Trump's media and technology company must turn over information about ex-Congressman Devin Nunes' employment as its chief executive officer, a federal judge ruled on Friday.

The ruling stems from a $75 million defamation lawsuit brought by Nunes, a former Republican U.S. Congressman from California, against Hearst Magazine Media Inc and journalist Ryan Lizza.”
