The posts about the tournament this weekend are 100% accurate as we are watching. Doug Prior is coach of both teams. It is his 2010 top team playing in the 2009 bottom bracket which is perfectly fine. Bringing 5...yes 5 top 2009 players is absurd. Winning every game 7-0 is classless.

So 2009 players are playing in a 2009 bracket for a 2010 team that is playing up? Original post claimed 2009 girls playing in a 2010 bracket, so actually first post not accurate at all.

I have no direct knowledge of any of this. But what if those 2009 players are actually 2010s who usually play up a year, and what if the coach wanted his 2010 team to play in a higher bracket but the tournament said "no - your kids are younger we're going to put them in the lowest bracket"?

What should the coach do?

He may have decided that he needed to show the tournament directors that they had made a mistake this year in order to ensure that his team gets placed appropriately in future tournaments and years.

I think that this would be a possible explanation for what happened.

They are not. Have played against them for years. They are 2009 girls, born in 2009, guesting with 2010 team for a tournament that is playing in the 2009 2nd division. They are also the top players from the best 2009 team in the state. As previous poster said, this is classless. It’s even more classless for these parents to participate.

Screw all you losers. We forfeited the finals. Are you happy? Now your second tier kids can duke it out against each other in the finals. And by the way, our 2010s would have won with or without the 2009 pre-ECNL girls helping us. You are all a bunch of sore losers. GO PIPELINE!

Why did you have to forfeit? Honest question.

We didn’t pay for the tornament. We stepped in when another team dropped out due to covid or something. We were clearly running away with the entire bracket, so coach said to give the paying teams a chance to win a trophy. Plus, I think he was over it.

Thanks for answering. I’m sure it will turn into another fake story about Pipeline. “They were caught cheating and had to forfeit”. Kind of like the other fake stories about Pipeline being banned from elite tournaments. I guess if you can’t beat them lie about them.

Also, many posts here claiming that Pipeline would not be allowed to join encl.

Exactly. I’m sure they have their problems like any club but it’s hard to argue against what they are accomplishing. Another dominant weekend for the boys side at Jefferson cup this weekend.

Thanks. That seems like a pretty reasonable explanation to me. I thought there might be one.

I thought the point of having players carded was so the coaches couldn't play kids that were older and not on their team? I am confused how older kids can play on younger teams if they show cards.

1- they probably didn't ask to see the cards
2- they may be older than the team but they were not older than the competitors if it were 2009 bracket

The tournament is a distraction. This is just one small example of who Pipeline is. Buyer beware.
