That’s why it’s important for the preschools to be understanding. My daughter is 4 and wears her mask fine, but the school has made it clear that, with this age group, they are going to remind the kids to wear their masks, but will not push it to the point where the kid gets unduly upset, especially if they know the kid has sensory issues. |
+1. Also there's a pretty wide gulf between a 4yo and a 2yo. M 4yo mostly wears it fine now, but my 2yo? Struggle every goddamn day. It's against biological instinct to have your nose and mouth covered up all day. |
it's also against biological instinct to wear clothes and yet. yes big difference between 2 and 4 but repetition is key and if consistent even the most sensitive will eventually get it . 2-5 year olds and kids in general are better with masks than adults |
Not the same, try harder. |
mask your kids |
Nope, I chose a daycare where they're not required. Sorry not sorry. |
|
Do you think masks will be or should be required when they are outdoors this summer. A lot of things preschool summer camps/programs/sessions are primarily outdoors. |
Do I think they will be? Yes. should be? No. Once most adults are vaccinated I don’t think children should be required to keep up all these preventive measures for something that -generally- barely affects them. |
The fall is 5 months away. We have no idea of knowing what the situation will be like. Imagine what you were thinking last March and how it really was in Sept. |
Do you think Montgomery county will make recommendations for outdoor protocols for summer programs soon? |
Yes, I'm confident kids will be wearing masks in the fall. |
This is true |
My 2 year old's daycare doesn't require them for his age group. I'm a firm believer in adults wearing them, but 2 year olds wearing them all day is not a reasonable expectation. |
Sure it is. I’m a daycare teacher and the 2yos at our daycare wear them all the time. Whether they wear them “well” is a subject to debate since most masks are sized for older kids and they tend to drool on them more, but they wear them enough to fulfill pandemic theater requirements pretty well. That’s the most important thing right? To curb adults anxiety! |
