What is Poolesville MS and HS really like?

Lol. Clearly none of you live in Poolesville. Poolesville has wealth just not mcmansions. We own estates, farms, equestrian training centers and nice new homes of decent size. There are also the large historical homes near Fisher. Some are cute bungalows and you can through in a few townhouse and apartment communities. We are a horse family and live on a farm that is 25 acres. It is not cheap. We are also AA. My eldest also attends SMACS at PHS magnet even though we live in Poolesville. It is not Trumpy even if it is mostly white. We are rural, not rednecks. There IS a difference. Green Valley and Monrovia/ Mt. Airy has the Trumpies. You will not find many Trump flags here. Poolesville also is the nicest community, especially us equestrian families. I go to Tractor Supply and it is like a reunion. They love my daughter and give her quizzes on tack, candy, and always a warm smile. I would not trade my life here for anything!

We do not see any racism at all. We are seeing the dilution of standards in the 9th grade selection this year, but, we are on our way out of MCPS.

Poolesville HS is an amazing HS. I fully expect MCPS to mess it up with their lottery selection. But there are bigger problems in the world then lowering of educational standards in student selection.

What dilution in standards do you see for 9th grade SMCS? Just curious.

Talk to me more about "not cheap." Just regular horses-aren't-cheap or is there something in particular about Poolesville that makes it more expensive? We are considering buying a property of a similar size.

What lottery? There’s no lottery for high school magnets. Only ES and MS.

Sure, there isn't really one but some of us like to pretend to help feed our grievances and persecution complex.

The student's are high performing because the top few are cherry-picked from all of the other high schools upcounty. Completely unrelated to the fact that Poolesville town itself is not diverse.

Bethesda, Chevy Chase & Potomac aren’t economically diverse.
