University of Southern California and University of South Carolina are both USC. It isn't that restricted.

My kid goes to UMW and it's a good fit. It has a strong biology dept and is just really good for kids who don't want to get lost in a big U program/university. Strongly encourage parents/students to give it a look with a tour.

That said, I really think they need to rename it or just go with "UMW" ALL THE TIME.

The "Mary" name -- just doesn't resonate with 17 yr old high school boys for the most part. I know, I know... we shouldn't have to erase feminine gender from things b/c we're all equal and "Mary" is historically accurate in the name. But, from a marketing perspective, I think using Univ. of Mary Wash just doesn't draw perspective male students. They would do better with just UMW or something else altogether.
