There's not a "Deep State," but there is what Steve Bannon called the Administrative State - the one he wants the complete destruction of. These are the "unelected bureaucrats" who have the institutional, policy, and procedural knowledge of how things are actually supposed to run. There might be an actual law governing their duties, or written policy, or just longstanding tradition. A normal Administration would use these people to help put their policies and ideas into action without running afoul of laws, policies, and norms and with an eye towards transparency and Congressional oversight.

Most of the people in the so-called Administrative state would be hard-pressed to actually stop something a President wanted to do, but they could certainly slow the process or go on record saying it violates laws, policies, or norms. I think the primary example right now is what is going on at the Pentagon.

If Trump had 4 more years you would have seen this happening at an even greater pace.

I actually watched one of the documentaries on this issue , and heard a story years ago on NPR, that posed the question of murder vs. suicide. Both stories came at it from it's a murder and we are going to prove it only in the end to conclude the evidence was very weak and that suicide was the cause. But who knows - maybe additional evidence will be unearthed that points to the direction of murder.

it's only something you would recall if you were 1) paying attention to the local DC news coverage on that day and the days after 2) were familiar with that area and the traffic patterns during that time of day in general

I mean I don't doubt something hit it but maybe it wasn't that plane and sadly that plane ended up crashed elsewhere or disappeared much like that Indonesian flight? Keeping in mind that until then we had never even entertained that a flight could be lost without a trace.

I used to be an assistant for someone who was at the site daily after 9/11 and he gets absolutely enraged about this. He told me he cleaned up plane parts with his own two hands.

But maybe he was in on it, I don't know.
