The Democrats have gotten say more attention because they had to go through primaries and debates to pick a candidate, plus they had to pick a VP. The GOP has an incumbent and hasn't even started to rally their base hard.

New polls show that Trump is rapidly gaining on Biden:

The lead for Biden is now dangerously approaching a lead that's within margins of error, meaning it is virtually a toss up. The haven't even debated yet. A lot can still happen before election, such as a trade deal with China that makes the stock market explode or approval of a COVID vaccine. I wouldn't be counting my chickens before the eggs have hatched if I were the Dems.

Look at the average of the polls
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_biden-6247.html

Biden's been bouncing around 50% since April.

After 2016, very few people think Biden has a lock on this. But he still looks good at the moment. That's the most you or I can say.

Read the CNN poll data taken from this week. Voters are now split between Biden and Trump well within the margin of error. In swing states where votes actually matter, the race is neck and neck. I'd be very worried if I were Biden and the Democrats. Their lead has essentially vanished, and the GOP hasn't even started to rally their base yet. Wait for the debates too.

That's one poll. Look at the averages. Or wait for more post convention.

There is no turn around. Biden's train is gone. Hillary was advising democrats recently how to proceed in the case of Trump's victory. They are preparing already in advance because they know Biden has no chance at this point.

What magic are the debates going to accomplish? Clinton handily won the debates, for all the good it did her.

It is not looking good for Trump, and he is killing his own voters through inaccurate info.

I don't see any Trump signs at all in my neighborhood this election. There were at least 4 of them in 2016 within 3 blocks of my house. My parents in the midwest have reported the same -- no Trump signs to be seen.

Who knows what the means? Could mean people vote for Trump in secret.

While OP wrings hands, I will be calling voters. Biden 2020

Yeah, but she debated. It looks bad if a candidate wont debate. It becomes an issue in and of itself.

Are you a mind reader? Or is this just another thing that's "obvious" to you and nobody else?

Neither candidate will refuse to debate for this very reason. Bookmark this.

Trump wouldn’t be working so hard to incite violence and suppress voting if he thought he was going to win easily.

Not happening. What's your point?

If he unequivocally condemns the violence in the cities and, not just that, but also the local officials' refusal to restore order and their coddling of violent rioters. People in this thread are underestimating the effect the uncontrolled violence in Democrat-run cities will have on voters. These voters may not have signs out and may not tell people for whom they are voting, but the violence will almost certainly drive voters away from Biden because he will be seen, rightly or wrongly, as a proxy for the policies implemented by Democratic politicians who have refused to get cities under control. More people than you think will not want to give the impression that they condone what's been happening by voting D.

I just love this. Y’all are in for the biggest shock of your lives on 11/3. Truly I don’t know what more to say.
