Wow, what remarkable foresight Obama had to develop tests years before the virus was ever found in humans. That’s what leadership looks like.

It wasn't his fault that he didn't replenish PPE supplies

President Trump has previously asserted that his impeachment trial prevented him from focusing on the coronavirus. He has also insisted that the lack of protective gear for hospital staff is the fault of his predecessor. But impeachment, which only began three years into his presidency, doesn’t explain why he failed to address the shortfalls in equipment he says he inherited.

Last night, ABC’s David Muir asked Trump, “What did you do when you became president to restock those cupboards that you say were bare?” Trump replied that the Russia investigation had also prevented him from addressing the equipment shortage:

Well, I’ll be honest. I have a lot of things going on. We had a lot of people that refused to allow the country to be successful. They wasted a lot of time on Russia, Russia, Russia. That turned out to be a total hoax. Then they did Ukraine, Ukraine, and that was a total hoax, then they impeached the president of the United States for absolutely no reason, and we even had 197-to-nothing vote by the Republicans.

To be fair, even Abraham Lincoln came perilously close to not freeing the slaves because he was so upset by what people were saying abotu him on Twitter

^ And in any case, certainly we can all agree that the man who managed to get so much done for Americans in the face of so much hardship should really be elected for a second term. Who wouldn't want this for another four years?

Haha, the whole campaign can just run on Trump's words. Trump against Trump.

"Maybe that's why I ended up the way I ended up. I don't know. I couldn't do any wrong in her eyes."

90k Americans dead is Obama's fault guys

https://www.nydailynews.com/coronavirus/ny-coronavirus-trump-obama-biden-20200517-s4lu5z5tm5a4hmgb73h2tjs644-story.html

President Trump on Sunday denounced President Obama as “grossly incompetent” and slammed Joe Biden as "corrupt” even as the coronavirus death toll neared 90,000.

Returning from a weekend at Camp David, Trump claimed he hadn’t seen his popular predecessor’s speech to graduating college students in which Obama criticized the “people in charge” for bungling the response to the pandemic.

“Look, he was an incompetent president, that’s all I can say," Trump told reporters. "Grossly incompetent.”

It's honestly fascinating how often he accuses someone else of EXACTLY what he has done.

The take no responsibility line along with all the bizarre and crazy stuff that he has been doing is killing him with independents and senior citizens. Its casting him as a weak, helpless person who is not able to lead. He handed over the mantle of leadership to the governors and the ones that have been pre-emptive and taking action like Cuomo, Newsom, DeVine and Hogan are getting huge bumps in positive polling from groups that did not vote for them or even agree with them on most things.

Why Trump and his campaign think that constantly crying about they should not have to do anything and people are on their own is a winning leadership message is beyond me. A leader who runs away isn't a leader.

Imagine how Ronald Reagan, Bush 1 or 2 , Clinton or Obama would have responded -they would be out there doing whatever the federal government could do. Heck even Cheney would have had his defense contractor machine making PPE on day 1. None of them would have believed China back in December/January and toddled off to go golfing because China doesn't shut down large areas of its economy unless its a disaster. In fact, all the previous presidents would have had their state and intelligence positions in place to catch what was going on in China in November and would have acted then.
