Rs are for big business and helping rich people keep their riches, and that's pretty much it.

Even R farmers want their trade connections back.

Trump has nothing in common with working class Americans. Why a man who was born rich and has never suffered the consequences of his financial mistakes should be their spokesperson is absurd.

This too shall pass.

So much this. It is genius in a way- you have to hand it to them.

Anyone who grew up working class (and even if you didn’t) is familiar with the “ornery old man, get off my lawn” type guy. My FIL, for example has been bitching about the low flow toilets and energy efficient lightbulbs for years- hence Trump’s weirdo rant recently about toilet flushing. The rest of us are thinking “what on earth!?” but men like my FIL are thinking “finally- someone said something!” and so on and so on, for issues both real and manufactured.

From your linked article:

“What does that ultimately mean? Valuable, skilled people decide they should leave because they’re never going to get what they had hoped for,” said Bruce Morrison, a lobbyist and immigration attorney who wrote the last bill that increased the number of employment green cards in 1990

You might want to recheck your history book and get back to me on which party the President belonged to in 1990.

Trump abandoned American workers when he shipped off his manufacturing to China and other cheaper places; hired a bunch of H2B workers, and then increased the H2B visas by another 15K in his first few months in office.

Orin Hatch, a R, authored a bill to increase HIB workers.

next.

There is NO worker shortage in busing tables and cleaning hotel rooms. This is all BS from Trump who said you couldn't find that kind of help to take jobs from Americans and give them to Eastern European H2B foreign workers.
