Sweetie, can you support your statement? If not I can help with actual facts so please do not distribute unchecked information. This, from CNN: Amazon reportedly employs thousands of people to listen to your Alexa conversations https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/11/tech/amazon-alexa-listening/index.html |
when you call someone “sweetie” it just makes you look bad so that no one cares what you say. You lose your credibility . |
Okay then, Sugar cube, don't get so edgy, just look at the facts. |
My niece at a W school says they are in several of her classes. |
Of all of the possible negative things that could happen to my child at school, someone possibly listening to a conversation in the classroom on an Alexa (which the owner can opt out of) is not on the list. |
I'm not worried that Alexa will spy on my kid (I know they will) but I am worried about what kinds of questions fellow students will ask Alexa. I can here it now: how are babies made? Rude sounds? All the swear words? |
FERPA says no |
DCPS WiFi blocks a whole bunch of stuff including Spotify and even Google unless you can log in to their firewall workaround as a staff member, which you can’t do on any device not issued by DCPS (including your phone or laptop).... so I’m shocked they’d even work in DCPS classrooms? |
I think OP has her answer. This would be a really controversial gift. |
