B and C Teams - Worth it? Where?

Not sure what's going on with the girls teams at Braddock Rd. My DS plays on the boys side. Despite being much better than over half of the players on the A team. He's been stuck on the B team since u-9. So with that being said We have already decided to move to Barca next season. From all the information we have gathered. My Ds will at least be given a fair shot to move up based on their training philosophy.

him coaching 8 teams is way too much and we have seen the consequences of that this year.

As for the methodology, yes, the training is the same. But the quality of training also depend on the quality of the player pool. If your kid's technique is good, but he or she is training with players that have subpar technique and execution, it is difficult to develop the appropriate speed of play. The top 3-5 players on B teams get screwed not because the quality of coaching is bad, but because the player talent pool is shallow and there is a big drop off.

+1 this is even true for some of the "A" teams there, who are seeded with C and D team players from other clubs. Only a few of the A teams there are competitive with other area A teams.

Same here. Also, as a PP notes, the lack of scheduling make it a mess. If you are lucky you find out 2-3 days before if and when you have a game that weekend.

At the higher levels, this is pretty common. We used to be at FCV and that's how it worked. Have friends at other clubs with same situation. It is a giant pain for planning and scheduling (especially if you have more than one kid) though, and creates a lot of player stress and uncertainty too.

The U9-U12 age groups are not in a league so they only do occasional scrimmages which are usually scheduled a day or 2 before. Big PIA
