Where can my kid get a great education without becoming an entitled a##hole?

He's only a year old, so I think we have time, (unless we were supposed to start with some elite playgroup when he was a zygote where Ruth Bader Ginsburg reads him Goodnight Moon or something).

We're focused on private schools in MD or DC because don't want to squeeze into Barbie's dream house in order to live in Potomac.

And yes, I know that parental influence is the main factor in my kid not becoming a total douchebag. But school plays a role, too.

Not surprisingly, Google is no help in this matter.

You sound like an entitled a##hole, so not sure what your real options are.

Boarding school? Adoption?

I thought about this, but can you get your kid into a good college if you home school?

Of course, people do it all the time. Many people homeschool to improve their kid's chances of getting into a good college.

Secret formula: Dedicate 30 hours per week to being engaged with your kid during daylight hours

I see kids who boss their nannies around. I used to see this in nyc all the time. Boys with help escorting or driving them. They basically have servants waiting on them.

We live in McLean and send our kids to public. We can afford private easily but wanted kids to be down to earth. Granted many kids live in multi million dollar homes.

We live in a country that cares more about money than education, so you have to throw money at a school one way or another: by living in an elite district or by shelling out for private school.

Does that make you mad? Me too. But it's true.

The main difference between public and private are the students.

If you put a similarly affluent cohort in a public school, they'd likely outperform the private case and point compare TJ to any local private.

The solution? Go to a "good enough" public school. Don't even go to "the best" public school in the county, because all the little jerks will be there too. Go down the high performing list a couple notches in Fairfax or MoCo. I went to private school, please do not go the exclusive route if you don't want your DC to become a jerk, or to have to deal with a bunch of jerks in class every single day.

I am not sure that Brett Kavanaugh has ever acted entitled. Can you provide examples. I don't think RGB is any mental state to function or read at this point. Your examples are hilarious.

Sorry, but I need to work, and I need someone to drive my non-driving kids to their activities, especially in the summers. What would you suggest? That they just not attend? Also, my kids attend private school because I prefer a faith-based learning environment.

Right? Brett Kavanaugh partied with friends from his private Catholic boys' high school in the 80's. OK. He is now a Supreme Court Justice and hopefully not a part of the college admissions scandal. Did he make valuable connections at his school? Probably, but that alone doesn't make him a d-bag.

Here's an example some might think where he acted entitled: https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/01/politics/amy-klobuchar-brett-kavanaugh-supreme-court/index.html

Perhaps you disagree.

Pretty clear he sexually assaulted multiple women as a teen and lied about it under oath.

WJ, BCC, Wootton... entitled

Sherwood, Clarksburg, Damascus... too far
NW, Blair, Einsten... maybe
