Let's see how everyone feels about digging up records to re-prove residency

Wow. Well, this should put the fear in people at least somewhat.

Hopefully getting the data in the requested format will allow them to do some cross-checks, like against tax records or internal data cross-checks (making sure there aren’t 10 families using the same address).

IG can't access individual tax records without taxpayers permission .. not sure what this fishing expedition is really going to surface

Those paying attention this year will have noticed that the enrollment papers made you check off a box giving permission for just that.

It had that as an option, if you want to prove residency that way. But they did not MAKE you give them access your tax data in order to enroll.

Tax records with children claimed are the only way to veritably prove residency.

Pay taxes to the District with your child claimed on the annual filing or remove your kid. It's pretty simple. No one wants to try to scam the IRS or the District Office of Taxation.

First, every dcps parent is not going to schlep downtown to get some form certified.

Second, its noone's business how much we make.

If you want to go there, the tax people should provide all schools a master list of residents who paid taxes and their home address.

It can be done electronically so there's no schlepping.

President Trump doesn’t have to show his taxes so DC residents shouldn’t need to show theirs

If you can prove you're a DC resident you don't have to show your taxes!
