Do you drink tap water?

Of course. Arlington, DC, and everywhere else I’ve lived. And what’s worse, I FEED IT TO MY CHILDREN.

I think this is a bad idea due to DCs history of bad water

I drink fairfax tap water, but I won't drink dc water. Dc can't do anything right.

It all comes from the Potomac, doesn’t matter where you are.

LOL. It all comes from the Washington Aqueduct, the filtration plant on MacArthur Blvd in DC.

Yes, and where is that water drawn from? the Potomac.

Yes, that's what I meant. The "I only drink Fairfax tap water" is dumb.

Nope. Stopped drinking tap water when we lived in Spring Valley when we realized there were elevated lead levels in our water, which was then found in my kids' blood. DC Water was so kind as to provide all the residents with a "free" water filtration for our tap. Too little, too late.

We drink it filtered. The water here tastes awful.

I am the ex-Spring Valley resident that posted about elevated lead in our water at that time.

I've drunk DC unfiltered water for many years. Bottled water seems very wasteful to me--drink it only if I am our and about and have to buy water to have any.

You worried about the lead but not the superfund site? We have always put on a whole house water filter in DC. You have to work with the City to have the lead lines replaced and you must pay half. I don't have an issue with it but it seems like a huge undertaking.

I got our street lead lines and the lead in our house replaced. I drink DC tap. It's one of the best and safest waters out there. Why do you think Nestle HQ is moving here?

Of course. Using a ton of plastic is criminally irresponsible.

My son won’t drink it. He said it’s gross. He drinks tons of bottled water or water from the gallon jug of spring water. Why is that wasteful? He’s drinking it, not pouring it down the drain.

What is the best/easiest home filter - a Brita pitcher filter? One that attaches to the faucet (which brand?)?

Thanks for any suggestions

ITs wasteful becasue you are buying tons of plastic containers that hold the water.

We have an in-line filter under our sink that works very well.

Yes, DC.

I can't believe someone really asked this question.
