My son is going to stay in his current school. I totally get that DCUM isn’t the place to get any solid information, but I have heard about many of these issues from other people off of this forum (current parents, former parents, a former teacher). Some may be exaggerating the conditions but I have to believe that most of what people are saying is true and I would just rather stay at a school where my son is happy and surrounded by supportive teachers/administration/friends/parents. Good luck with your decision today. It’s a tough one!

We left IT ... and regretted it! The environment is not the same- and there's no going back.

I just called the school to decline my spot (because that's what MSDC says to do) and was told the woman in the registrar's office is off today! Because SURELY, it's not going to be a busy day in that office today.

I declined a spot for k. The commute would kill me living on Kennedy st. I'm hoping for a spot at DC Bilingual - I'm no 3 but will be happy if we stay at Breakthrough too

I'm sorry to hear your regret. You just reassured my decision to stay at ITS. We've been so happy there but have been hoping to get into MV bc we're a bilingual family. But we're staying put. It would be hard to replicate what we have at ITS.

Would you accept for sure at DCB? Any worries about the long school day or commute there?

I also declined a spot for K at MV and have a good waitlist number at DCB, so fingers crossed!

Yes DCB was my first choice! Commute is easier than MV. Fingers crossed!

FWIW, we (one of the PPs asking questions) accepted our spot in K and are going to stay positive and excited about it!

Agree with PP— we have a great WL number and will accept if offered. But this thread has been very helpful in highlighting issues. Would rather accept knowing this info, so thanks to all who have contributed!
