Look, the biggest issue is the darn commute. Which by the way, gets worse every year!

Not sure if "too rigorous" is the phrase I heard. But it is close. I know of parents at other schools whose dc's declined Sidwell because the grading has a reputation for being punitive and somewhat arbitrary.

My guess is this is some sort of drinking game, how many posts will it take to turn a legitimate thread into a fight over Sidwell...

There is ALWAYS some banter about Sidwell. And there is always some parent obsessing about where their school ranks in comparison to Sidwell or gnashing their teeth because Sidwell is a top tier school. After all, why has a Norwood thread morphed into yet another Sidwell thread? Sidwell is THE most talked about school on this entire board and the topic of countless threads--it's almost like some sort of obsession.

But at some point, you would think people would move on and be happy with their own school. Let it go, people, let it go...
