I Don't Like People Who Say They Don't Like Ketchup

I'm a fan of French's Ketchup.

Ketchup, Hamburger Helper, and cigarettes are all nasty Boomer-era things that are finally dying out.

You must not be from DC. Let me guess somewhere in California?

I grew up poor and ate very very unhealthy. I’ll eat ketchup on fries and a hotdog but I don’t have to have it. Other than a burger what else do people use ketchup for? My kids only use it for fries.

We're Ivy league educated, upper middle class, from comfortable Northeastern families. We use ketchup with burgers and fries and hotdogs. So do our friends.

Ketchup is very common overseas as well. It's found all over Europe. Asians actually use ketchup in their cooking as well. You'd be surprised.

Some people put it on meatloaf.

I daresay the vast majority of ketchup is served with burgers and fries and perhaps that is all that really matters. It is a condiment, after all.

In France, some people like to put some ketchup on their pasta and add in some shredded swiss cheese : I love it

The only thing I put it on is meatloaf. And that's only a recent thing. I grew up watching my brother drown everything in ketchup - from grilled chicken to mac and cheese and it used to make me gag.

I like it on a burger, but not much else. I'm just not really a fan of fries in general.

I don't like people who spell it like "catsup."

Ketchup is great on hash brown. I like to salt the ketchup I dip my fries in. Fabulous!

Heinz ketchup was introduced in 1876. Boomers-era?

Ah yes, my better homes and garden recipe actually instructs me to spread 1/2 cup on my meatloaf before baking. If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is.
