OP here. It's funny that this thread got revived. But this is great advice. I agree that it's hard in consulting to make really big income jumps. I am focused like a laser on getting a promotion in the next six months. I have been communicating with my boss about it for months now and I am also focused on high profile projects and biz development. If a promotion doesn't pan out by 2011, I know there are other firms out there that would value my experience.
