Private & Independent Schools
| Yes, Burgundy works for families on the Hill or in close-in MD (near the Wilson Bridge). It would be kind of a hike for other parts of DC. But awesome for those of us in NoVa! I thought about DC schools for my kids (We are in Alex) but did not want them commuting at rush hour at such young ages. Maybe for HS. Also, Burgundy is just pretty amazing. Nothing like it in DC. If you're nature/science oriented, it doesn't get any better. Barn, pond, woods..... |
| just reading through the last series of posts...with respect to the idea that green acres is somehow "cliquish"...couldn't be farther from the truth. we're a new family there this year. we haven't felt any sort of clique or exclusionary dynamic at all. the familes just seem down-to-earth, friendly, easy going. very welcoming atmosphere. |
What is the commute to GA like? We also live in SS. Are there other kids from SS? |
I would like to hear a bit more about what you didn't like about Lowell. Was it the administration, the curriculum, the presentation or the visit? |
| there are definitely kids from silver spring. i'm not sure how many. kids from all over montgomery county and some nw dc. they encourage carpooling. they also have a great bus system. call and ask about the bus routes and see if any of those would work for your family. the bus is the only way we could manage the commute. my son loves it. |
