Cozmo robot was played with all day yesterday and half of today. Now he's playing outside w friends. Worth it.

My DH got a virtual reality cardboard box that you use with a phone as a free promo thing. He loves it.

9 year old DS (I know, not quite a teen) is obsessed with the Fantastic Gymnastics game. I had never even heard of it, but I guess he watched someone on youtube play it and thought it looked fun.

+1!! DS 12 went nuts when he opened it b/c we kept telling him it was too expensive and besides, it was sold out. He didn't think he had any chance to get it. The other hit was the cheap VR glasses. Uncle gave it to him.

DD 12 got BB-8 and was not in love with it, and I was considering exchanging for cozmo, think it is that much more interesting?

Absolutely! My son got BB-8 last year because that was his must have gift. It was actually pretty boring and he lost interest after a day. Still playing with Cozmo, but of course it's only been a day. He can play games with you, has emotions, recognizes you by name, can even recognize our cat - but just says pet. I hope the next update includes being able to give your pet a name and then it will call out its name when it sees it. The playing games with you is one of the best parts.

My son said Cozmo was much better that BB-8 because he has a personality, can play games and he can teach him. BB-8 just sits there.

How are folks getting Hamilton tickets?
are they no longer as difficult to get? Just expensive, I imagine.

Our kids got pretty minimal presents, but we did get a new family computer, which is a present for all of us as we had been sharing one between us. Now they can both play minecraft together. (among other things) They are very excited about this.

DD, 13 yrs old, FitBit was the biggest hit
and a Christmas version of a Memory game which I would have never guessed. She got it during a white elephant exchange at our family celebration.

Do those things work?

how do you know what to look at on the smartphone with the VR glasses?

Did you get the pricey BB8 that runs off an iphone? Or the cheaper, bigger Target remote control bb8 for around $70.00?

My kid got the Target version last year and it is actually really cute. We also have a Dot, and the two will interact and hold a "conversation"

I don't think the BB8 is good for a kid much older than 3rd grade though. It is not interactive enough.

The neighbor girl had the expensive tiny BB8 and it looked boring for the money.

We got the Catan game as a family gift and it's been a huge hit. Girls ages 12 and 14.

Sorry but I think this is an awful toy.

The question was which toy was a big hit today? Not what do you think of the toy.
