Hopefully we can regain our intellectual footing after the election but they are laughing and scratching their heads. At the final State dinner last night, the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, praised Michelle Obama on her speech about assault against women.

"Michelle, I know that your tomatoes are good," Renzi said at the dinner. "But after hearing your speech allow me to be frank: Your speeches are better than your tomatoes." "Thank you so much as a prime minister, and thank you so much as the father of a young woman," Renzi said.

He was referring to Michelle Obama's recent speech in response to numerous accusations that Republican presidential candidate had groped and sexually assaulted several women.

I thought she was sharp last night when making the cable news rounds. She was alert and her makeup was flawless. Sometimes you can tell she's running on no sleep and energy is lowwww.

She needs some sleep. I just saw her on MSNBC and the eye bags were unusually prominent. Unfortunately, the argument that Obama's half-brother was invited to be inclusive, that's hogwash. Conway doesn't know him. Trump doesn't know him. I'm surprised it wasn't Omarosa, Pastor Burns, and other inclusive talking heads.

I know - this is hilarious! More of Trump trying to "settle scores" that don't help him in his campaign one whit! Earth to Trump: No one cares that you recruited Obama's half-brother.

Except that this is the U.S. and we are a democracy. (Republic really but Trumpsters want a dictator). We are pretty pathetic right now. Sorry but I hold my country to a higher standard. Unfortunately, the so called GOP patriots haven't a clue as to what really makes us the greatest country in the world. Peaceful transition of power is one.

Yeah I don't understand what Trump was even going for here. Did Trump really think he could goad Obama into a negative reaction? Say what you will about his presidency but Barack and Michelle are classy and even-keeled.
