The US has some of the best state of the art training facilities, coaching staff and trainers in the world. A lot of the world athletes attend US colleges and universities so they can utilize the training facilities and compete in their sports with US athletes. If you listened to some of the Olympic commentary, there were many athletes representing their home countries who attend US schools.
