| This makes me so thankful for my body. Naturally slim and curvy. And more importantly, healthy! |
How do you know those are men and not women happy to see a heavier model closer to their size? |
Because these are registered accounts with male names. Some linked to FB |
I think this is a MUCH better photo than the cover one. She looks huge to me in the cover photo, and I say that as someone who's also overweight. |
Really? I think she looks so gorgeous! And I'm not overweight |
I think they care, but are so caught up in their politics that they refuse to see the truth re: EDs. If the choice is to medicate a patient with a drug for OCD and it stops the cycle of starvation and/or binge/purging, why would you NOT do it? The woman I spoke of (the activist) said "because if she goes off the medication, the ED will start again". Well, that's how OCD works, usually, which is why it's combined often with behavioral modification. Without the meds, the 'voice' of the ED shuts down the brain to the behavior mod therapy. Calming that voice with a drug such as Zoloft, allows the therapy to be much more effective. |
Sorry, as someone who had an ED and successfully recovered without the use of drugs, I am sick and tired of your pseudo-concerned conspiracy theory bullshit. |
| Guess what? We could all be a LOT more beautiful if we bitched less and supported each other more. Nothing in the world is uglier than cutting people down for sport. |
In general I think she looks good, BUT I do think she would be more attractive if she lost 20 lbs or so. Just a little more trim. Size 12-14 for her height. |
If you think EDs are just a brain glitch that can be cured with medication you're sadly mistaken. I'm a therapist and work with clients with many issues, including eating disorders and OCD. You're not incorrect to mention that there are aspects of disordered eating which resemble OCD, however it's really not that simple. There are many additional factors in play for many (if not most) ED clients. This includes family dynamics and the wider culture that sends messages to women that thinness is revered above health and self-acceptance.. |
Good for you but no one asked or cares |
+1 |
If Marilyn was 5'5" and weighed between 115-120, she was not a size 12. That would have been more a 7/8. She was busty for that weight and that would have made her top size bigger..maybe. But not a size 12. Jayne Mansfield was 5'5" and 128. She is listed has having been a size 4 but I think at that weight and with her busty/curvy sort of body type she would have been more around a size 9-10. |
| ^Not to mention, Jayne Mansfield is listed as having a 40D bra size. No way is that a size 4. |
It's interesting because either she has lost weight or this photo is fairly significantly photo shopped. I just googled her and her legs are much heavier in most of the runway and lingerie shots of her that pop up. |
