+1! The music sucks!

Said everybody who was not a youth, about the music of the youth, since at least 1890.

Go play with your smartphone.

Truth hurts, i see.

Cool skipped a generation.
It will probably come back when your children are in their teens or in their 20s.
Since cool is something millennials have ZERO experience with, it is something their children will have to learn about all on their own.

But what about the "cool rich millennials living in fashionable apartments"? Surely they qualify for the cool classification! It's in their description, for goodness sakes!

One of my good friends used to design the websites of a lot of the newer trendy apartment/condo communities.
He quit after a year because he was told to use the same exact shit over and over again with each community and it got old real quick.

*Upscale*
*Modern*
*Urban*
*Granite*
*Up & Coming*
*Fitness Center*
*Vibrant*
*Concierge*
*Wi-Fi*
*Rooftop Deck*

That kind of shit gets the wanna-be urban millennial's mouth watering.

Cool story bro.

An even cooler story is where he moved to.

An island in the caribbean.

He will never have to worry about shoveling snow ever again.

To the millennials? Because nobody ever thought the GenXers were cool. Not even the GenXers. Not even in Singles (1992). Too young for Woodstock, too old for -- well, whatever the defining event/thing is for the Millennials. Nobody cares.

Excuse me? what? We were SO cool.

Every month she would gather all of her bills and put them in a huge envelope and then mail them off to her father so he could pay them.

Yes, and so? One Millennial does that, therefore all of the other 79,999,999 Millennials must do it too?

I also have 2 millennials in my family whose parent's pay everything for them as well.

DAMN! That makes 3 whole people? Hold the phone- this is a phenomenon!

3 is statistically significant.

Maybe but you sure as shit didn't retain any of it. For proof, see the thread on The Weeknd where absolutely no one can pick out any cultural reference in any popular song.

We thought we were. But nobody else thought so. And there were a whole lot more of them than there were of us.

Nobody can name all of the members of millennial bands because the millennial bands along with the music is not very memorable.

TO YOU.

Do you understand how that works? Just because you're out of touch with current music doesn't mean everyone else is or that people will be in 20, 30 years.

Seriously? I think we Gen Xers were a hell of a lot cooler than the Millennials. Nirvana? Come on. That was groundbreaking, and pretty much everything was informed by Grunge. Everything that the Millennials are into is just so wack. I am shocked by their bad taste.

You do realize your statement reeks of approaching middle age?

The only band I've ever been able to name all of the members of is the Beatles.

Louis Armstrong's Hot Five and Hot Seven made very memorable music, but I can only name one member of that band. Guess who? Same with the Glenn Miller Band. (Not to mention the Steve Miller Band.)

Don't be silly. Approaching middle age doesn't reek.

Also, something that we GenXers never, ever said at the time was "wack". That is a Millennial expression.

Which is what is so sad and cringey about him using the word.
