Why not hearing aids, eyeglasses, braces for teeth. Nuts.

As other PPs posted - you can indeed deduct these through the health spending accounts.

Another vote here for the tax code being slanted against married dual working couples. And the PP suggesting filing seperately doesn' thave a clue - although that must work for someone otherwise it wouldn't exist, it doesn't work in the vast majority of cases since it does not correspond to the single income brackets.
