Be glad you have choices at great charters. Being stuck with DCPS Bruce Monroe is what drove the GGE guy out of town.

Are you confusing the Prince of Petworth (rezoned to Bruce Monroe and moved in bounds to Hearst) with someone at GGE/GGW? GGW founder has been in Dupont for years.

OP here - for those of you watching waitlists, we've moved to #3.

I am a CMI parent. We rejected IT then later accepted a spot at CMI (this was before common lottery). A big issue was location, but there were a million little reasons as well. The short version is that IT did not feel like a good fit whereas CMI felt like a perfect fit.

Our PS got into CMI mid-year, so you definitely may get a call. My advice is to visit the school, ask a lot of questions, and go with your gut.

ITS family here. This was our story hit in reverse. Have been very happy with ITS last few years.
