Which DCPS wait lists are moving?

Not sure this will make you feel better but we are in Pk there now and the list moved a ton over the summer. Also, our class had 3 kids leave and 3 new kids join in Sept and Oct. good luck!

I know of two IT families on older grades that are moving away so there will be some movement soon.

The waitlists must not be updated yet. I know for a fact that several people declined my IB school but my number hasn't changed.

For families waiting on CMI, the enrollment info for returning families was COB today. You should see the WL move Monday.

Good luck!

We are one spot worse for MV for K. Sigh.

No. However, I posted earlier on some thread with good numbers (single digits) for Eaton, Hearst and Cleveland ES Spanish. I have an older DS ( 4th grader) at Eaton already (grandfathered into Deal) and would like DC2 to at least have the option for Deal.

The YY thing was total luck, I threw it in there as a 5th choice totally not expecting to being offered a spot.

In the end, I had to think about the "long-game" (as DCUM advised) and the option that both kids could attend good schools in close proximity. If I don't get into Hearst or Eaton I'm screwed, but I think my chances are pretty good and it wasn't worth taking a coveted spot at YY only to withdraw later.

PP, this is interesting and underscores for me that, as you say, it's almost all about luck (I.e. Whatever lottery number you have).

I remember your post!
Did you decide which you would prefer--Hearst or Eaton? What is your number at the schools? Hope it works out for you, whatever your preference.

First preferences, then luck. You could have the best lottery number ever, but you're not getting into Janney OOB for PK4.

PK4:
1 worse for Capital City Charter
1 worse for Bridges
2 worse a few days ago but back down to only 1 worse for DC Bilingual

No change for Stokes, Powell, Creative Minds, Inspired Teaching.
