Am I the only one who doesn't read? Ever?

I really can't imagine life without reading. It's my greatest pleasure, and it's so accessible, I've been able to continue it when I've had to drop every other hobby. The most disturbing "Twilight Zone" is the episode about the reader who's the last man on earth! (I won't spoil the ending.)

That said, I don't run or hike or garden or do any number of other things you might love.

Not reading books (many or whatever) is one thing.

Not reading anything not in the WSJ or Forbes is just absurdly head-in-the-sand restrictive and IMO a bit ignorant.

If that's the entirety of what you're exposed to in print you get/ have a very narrow and unrealistic -- and dare I say, ignorant and uninformed from any wider perspective -- world view.

If I interviewed you and asked about reading and that was your answer I wouldn't think of hiring you.

DH will read a few pages here and there, but rarely finishes a book. We're talking a well-educated, street smart guy. I wouldn't call him book smart, however.

I think people can be well informed reading newspapers and magazines, and the Internet. However, it takes a particular level of concentration to read a book (fiction or nonfiction) and it's good not to lose that.
