How much do you tip on takeout orders?

Exactly. I tip for the service when I eat in. I don't think that swiping my credit card and handing me a bag of food constitutes service.

This tipping thing at carry out just makes me think every time I pick up pizza at Papa John's.
I sign the credit card slip and it has a blank for the tip.
What am I tipping for?
I called my order in, I drove to the place, I walked into their store, paid, and then carried out my own boxes.
Doesn't matter to me how much the folks in there are making on their paycheck. There wasn't anything "extra" that they did that I feel I need to tip for.
So I put zero.

But yes, I do tip for delivery to my doorstep.

if it is somewhere I frequently pick food up and they know me, I tip 10%. Saves my food from being spit into and trust me, some people will do that. I would rather not take that chance!!
