Lots of people think that Nonny has Aspergers. |
Long overdue! |
And without legs. |
And without legs. |
Isn't that Ursula? |

After all this time, I would expect Disney to respond appropriately.
But no. Not yet. Ever? Well Disney . . . ? |
I realize this thread is old, but bull. Why is it always the good and kind mother killed off, only to be replaced with a complete harridan of a stepmother? |
Because that's how fairy tales are--at least since the 1800s. The original versions of many tales had evil mothers trying to get rid of their children, but when people started sanitizing them in the 19th century, the mothers became stepmothers. (Think: Hansel & Gretel, Cinderella, Snow White, and many more.) Rapunzel's story was always about a witch stealing her from her parents; the Littke Mermaid's mother isn't mentioned at all in her story AFAIR, though she does have a much more developed relationship with her sisters. Both Simba and Merida have mothers, FWIW. And Disney wrote Aladdin's mother in for the Broadway show. |
Best Disney character ever. I love her. |
The father is a widower in the original Hans Christian Andersen story, and the grandmother figures prominently: http://hca.gilead.org.il/li_merma.html |
Agreed. |

How about just a disabled character, or a curb cut?
Here's a review of Disney's latest. http://davehingsburger.blogspot.com/2016/03/open-letter-zootopia.html |
