Sounds more like satanic music if it focuses on the devil and he'll. is there such a thing? Maybe it is hardcore.

Hardcore devil worship?

If be offended just because most contemporary Christian music is just awful--it's musicians and singers who couldn't cut it in the mainstream.

Turns out the driver plays Christian music a lot, and he has my child sit up front due to his height and impulsivity issues. We are not Christian and my child had some serious issues last year -nightmares about the devil and hell, confusion about our faith tradition, etc. last year. Can I ask him not to play Christian music? Can kids bring iPods on the bus?

I bet you a million bucks you wouldn't dare even bring this issue up if the music was muslim.

If the music were Muslim, people would be calling for the driver to get fired, on grounds that he's a terrorist.

And I bet you a million bucks that the vast majority of Muslims would never dare to play their religious music while driving a school bus (unless they were transporting kids to a Muslim school) for fear of being labeled a terrorist based solely on their religion. Just like most athiest school bus drivers would never dare to play atheist music (if such a thing even exists) for fear of being labeled immoral &/or Un-American for not believing in God.

A message of love and sacrifice can never hurt.

This is pagan music (from Dar Williams): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_KiHRHwaAs

But atheist music -- that's a good question.

Another thing that can't hurt -- Christians thinking about why many non-Christians may not associate Christianity with love and sacrifice (self-sacrifice, that is).

There is plenty of music that conveys this message without also preaching about religion, which has no place on a public school bus.If you want your kid to be taught religious doctrine, send them to a religious school or take them to church.

Atheist here. Chill out. Your kid will ignore the music soon enough.
