I hate when people say "nom, nom, nom"...

Nom nom nom always strikes me as vaguely sexual/gross. Kind of like something the Greaseman would have said (anyone remember him?).

I see these words regularly on liberal forums. I think only people that are emotionally stunted use baby words. Saying Mommy at 40 is just puke inducing.

Nom nom nom and woot may be irritating but they are in no way offensive.

Cursing serves a purpose many times.

Nomnomnom is exclusively for morons, and therefore it IS offensive to my ears, exactly like poor grammar would be

As a Christian , I believe people saying "Jesus Christ! " and " God D***" breaks a commandment. On the other hand... It is also flattering because they know the name of Jesus has power and gets attention without being threatening. They don't say Allah , Buddha , atheist , earth or sun. They know where the power is .

OK, keep believing in fairy tales if it helps you sleep at night.

I hate it when adults still refer to their grandparents by their childhood nicknames ie. meemah, bubby, .etc

I hate when women call their husband "baby". Especially in front of other people. Always grosses me out.

This might be the first instance in which growing up poor has allowed me to come out ahead.

I agree with most of what you say except for that woot is only irritating. Woot is unbearably idiotic.

"Womp womp" is also painfully stupid and annoying.

I could not agree more. Adults using baby talk is so repellent. All those babywearing and preggo mommies sitting around talking about their hubbies and having some yummy noms.

+1 but I feel the same way when husbands call their wives "baby". So skin-crawling either way.

As an atheist, I agree with you. Words like 'goddammit' have more power in American society than plain 'dammit'precisely because of (millions of) people like you. So that is why -- although I have zero affinity for Jesus myself -- I tend to throw thst word into the mix when I curse. It ups the ante for listeners.

Jesus Fucking Christ is the one that turns heads. LOL

-1 as well (see what I did there? )

I would drive PP1 nuts, as I'm quite prone to saying "Jesus Fucking Christ" when truly annoyed. A twofer! (Who's annoyed by twofer, someone must be!)
