Yeah, whatever happened to all the store brand, "compare to Aveda's blah blah" shampoos and conditioners? there used to be so many, now there are none at all.

There's a line out by Suave right now that has "compare to Aveda" on it. Check it out! Maybe you'll find something similar to what you liked!!!

my Maybelline mascara, Oil of Olay exfoliating cleanser, Cover Girl eyeliner, Clinique compact makeup .. all discontinued and I hate having to try to find comparable substitutes....

Cover Girl Professional mascara in the blue tubes. Everything else seems to smear on me, clumps or breaks off my lashes.

Also, remember when OB tampons were off the shelves for months? That was a nightmare. So glad they came back.

OMG, I had forgotten about this. I made DH raid the CVS near his work, telling him that people were selling them for twice the price online. He brought them home thinking we were going to get rich gouging people for tampons. I spent a long time explaining to him the importance of tampon brand preference. He's still mad he bought all those boxes of tampons for no profit.

So this is why I have cases of OB? They are my favorite brand. I happened to walk into the store and the man was putting them all on clearance for $1/box. I bought every box they had. I figured they don't expire....now I'm on the 3 month pill. At the rate I use them, I'll go through menopause before I run out.

If anyone else on here is also mourning -- any suggestions for substitutions for either?

Also Clinique's Dramatically Different lotion. It's been 15 years and still I mourn it.

The yellow stuff for your face? I think they still make that.

Nope, they absolutely do not still make it. I have badgered cosmetic counter people all over the eastern seaboard. Nada. Nowhere.

All high end perfumes were ruined by the US ban on whale ambergris--google it was the ingredient for Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels--now it is synthetically made when these perfumes break down after 3 or 4 hours, they smell like ass. You can still buy ambergris based parfum in France and also Dubai--UAE and Saudi.

Postum. My dad used to make me Postum with milk and sugar. I decided to do this for my kids, and it's discontinued!

Anyone 45-55 remember the chocolate chewy round sticks that "The Astronaughts Eat"?

Too bad you went all over the Eastern seaboard when all you had to do was go online to Clinique or Sephora or Nordstrom or...anywhere. I see it in every department store, too, all the time. Are you talking about an old formulation? This lotion is literally everywhere, all the time, on every seaboard.
