Anyone women wearing a rash guard for swimming with nothing underneath?

It's a shame nobody makes a rash guard that is as sexy as a traditional cotton T-shirt. Makes us women look like plastic dolls, especially long sleeve. Just a plain white or gray cotton T-shirt that hits right above the thigh is perfect for me.

But the braless thing is not sexy either btw.

I am surprised to see so many responses saying that you NEED TO wear a top under a rashguard. I am very slim, between A-B cup, and have NEVER wore anything under my rashguard.
Whether it's dry or wet, it fits exactly like my one-piece swim suit, except that it's not attached to my biking and it has short (or long) sleeves. My swim suit is not lined and it doesn't show my nipples because it's made from nylon/spandex super elastic fabric that does not allow for nipples to protrude. The same goes for my rashguards.

A lot of the conversation ends up being about wether its ok to have nipples visible in any context. I often wear tee shirts, dresses, and tank tops without a bra, so I'm used to having some nipple show through. Doesn't bother me at all. I don't need the support, so just skip the bra. (I'm not working now, but when I did, I always wore a bra to work, because that's just part of professional attire.)

I also don't wear makeup or style my hair. So my standards are a little less fancy or "proper" than many people's.

Doesn't matter if you are small. All women look better in clothes with a bra.

Plain cotton fabric will not give you the same sun protection that a rash guard would. In fact, it gives you very minimal protection.

I'm small breasted like AA , I wear a rash guard with out anything underneath its just so much more comfortable , my swimsuit top was annoying me so I just took it off & wore just the rash until I bought a new top ...sooo 1yr later still haven't bought one lol. My rashy is black & fushia pink in the water u can't see anything ( I don't think lol) but when I get out I make sure to "unstick" from my body to not have he wet tshirt look. Hth.

I've heard that as well but I also agree that rash guards are about as sexy as scuba suits. Would be nice if someone came up with one that actually looked sexy as a cotton T-shirt does when wet. I have a size small Rascal Flatts T-shirt that I wear over my bikini and I love the looks I get when I come out of the water. I feel sexier than with just the bikini top.

BOT, modesty is sexy but c'mon we are all women and we should be proud of our curves. OP, if that's your choice, go for it!

Going to say to the negative comments about - going bra less and not wearing anything under rash guard!!! Males have nipples- them being visible under clothes, is very a sign there a slut , ect !!!! Wearing a bra or swim top , is really no business !!! When men , start wearing things that are constructive and uncomfortable around there chests ! Them we’ll talk about !!!!

I think nipple outline is fine, nothing wrong with it. But a rashguard isn't taut enough to offer any stabilization or support. I immediately take out the pads that come with my one piece suits or bikini tops and throw them in the garbage. I'm an A cup. I hate the padding. But that usually means I have visible nipple in a swimsuit, but the tightness of a swimsuit and how they are cut hold my breasts in place and give support. I would wear a bikini top or one piece under a rashguard since they are more baggy, but I'm sure my nipples would still show. It doesn't bother me, it is natural.

Definitely wear something underneath. I wear a plain fairly seamless one piece, it doesn't look weird under the rash guard.
