Buying first house .. Fort Hunt area?

I add another vote for West Springfield/Burke -- good value for the money and great schools. I find the claim that it is very "walkable" (at least to multiple commercial establishments) a bit of a stretch, however. Some neighorhoods are within a few blocks of strip shopping centers, but many others are not. And walking along Old Keene Mill Road or Burke Center Parkways is not a pleasant pedestrian experience.
