It is part of what the school is looking for (CM).

I asked to attend the lottery, for the record. I was told I was not allowed to.

Now, if true, that is a violation of the law, or least of PCSB regulations:

"The lottery drawing must be announced in advance and occur in a public forum. Evidence of the lottery drawing in a public forum will be verified during the PCSB's Annual Compliance Review."

Do you have any evidence of that? You should inform the PCSB.

Actually sweetie, these are the guidelines and not the charter law.

Rumor I heard was that CM would like to stay at current location and expand into the area next door. There is a playground right across the street.

Actually, the Principal has indicated that while they are considering remaining at the current location and expanding into the MV space, they are also actively exploring options in Wards 1, 4, or 5 in NW. The lack of green space is actually one of the concerns about remaining in the current location for the long term. They are committed to getting this all figured out before the deadline for families to commit to attending next year.

This sounds like the message I've been getting as a CM parent.

Thanks for the update on cm location!

Today at the MV open house they said there will be 8 open slots for pk3 after sibs. I think it's off my list.

Yeah, the MV open house today was totally depressing for us. No point in applying for us, unless we can't fill all 12 slots (haven't been to all open houses, so not sure yet).

This is not factoring in the new amendment.

Interesting, as that is explicitly not how the principal explained it to the Charter School Board.

PP to whom you are responding, and yes, I agree--the charter amendment was crystal clear that there would be 40 spots in PK3 next year if approved. We approached the ED privately and asked and she said that the new early childhood building will not have been built and therefore the early childhood program will be in the main building with 28 spots total for PK3, 20 of which are expected to go to sibs.

I swear if I get into a program I love I am going to have to have another kid just to go sibling preference. Only half kidding.

This is why so many other schools have trouble getting their amendments passed, shady practices. Why not just be honest from the start?
