oldest or youngest in your grade - how did it impact YOU?

I was one of the youngest (Jan birthday, went to K early). My mom swears I was a less mature than my peers, but I think a year would not have mattered. Some of it just was personality. I was always a great student, athlete and leader, but I never had to buckle down and work to get good grades, so I never got the top grades. I don't think it had anything to do with age. There was a HUGE range of ages in my grade (like 4 years between the oldest and youngest students). I think the oldest of the students did fine, but the youngest students (several girls started high school at 12) did NOT do well.

I was the youngest and was also always one of the smartest, I was well liked, and on the same maturity level as everyone else (possibly more mature, I never acted stupid in high school). So there goes your theory, OP.
