He could have read the Repiblican solution for health care. Imsuretgatcould have filled five minutes. |
Green Eggs and Ham was mentioned twice in this thread prior to your bringing it up. It appears we are talking about a few more things as well. |
SO epic! |
Not the PP and I do want to speak for her and I am not saying people who oppose it are racist...but I am still trying to grasp GOP opposition when a lot of the MAJOR concepts in the plan are GOP ideas. Sure, there are DEM ideas in there too, but surely the GOP realizes that this is THEIR earlier plan. That's why I have always been confused. Why is the opposition so strong - is it the name? |
| See...this is what bothers me. Instead of criticizing ACA and reading bedtime stories, why didn't Cruz use the time and the platform to offer up viable alternatives or other ideas or even waht changes need to be made to Ocare to make it effective? |
NP here and I wonder same thing - the ACA was modeled very deliberately after ideas developed by Republicans. Now those very same concepts are targeted by the GOP as "socialist" and "anti jobs". And it's not just opposition to these concepts, but the vitriol and misinformation about the nature of the plan and what it will offer. All I can conclude is that this is about Obama, not about the plan itself or the millions of people who might benefit. Didn't McConnell say early on in the process that he wanted health care reform to be Obama's "Waterloo"? Seems like the GOP sees defeat if the plan as a proxy for defeating Obama, regardless of the value of the ACA. Would love to hear why I'm wrong on this. |
And what were they? |
Well said. If the GOP managed to bring down the ACA over the next few years, then turned around and passed identical legislation a few years after that, the same shrieking harpies who are talking about the Death of Freedom and SOCIALISM would be waving little American flags and cheering. If they had a shred of intellectual integrity, they'd probably spend some time thinking about why that is. Of course, they don't, so they won't. |
